for a site that could help me explore
the potential of Open Source software
for education. I stumbled on L40 and discovered
that not only are they an affordable hosting
service, they offer free access to a range
of Open Source applications via a setup
engine called Fantastico.
Within
an hour I had my site up, a new domain
name and an Open Source content management
system installed and running. All for
about $70. I was astounded at the ease
with which I could get the applications
installed and functional.
I
work in the vocational training field
in Australia and can see enormous potentail
for this kind of service for small to
medium business and training organisations.
Perhaps even the big ones could benefit!
In
addition to the content management system,
in another 30 minutes I had set up a Web
Log and an Open Source groupware application
for managing my projects and contacts.
Their
instructions are clear and everything
work like a dream. I am still dazed at

But the speed, reliability, and tech support
can't be beat. They have 24hr tech support
and they keep the amount of traffic on
each server low. They will actually beat
any price that is given to them and will
work with you to troubleshoot programming
problems when you get in those situations
to where all you are getting is mysql
errors and php errors. They have paid
more money for the ensim pro control panels
to give there customers a even greater
user friendly enviorment.
I
have went with alot of hosting companies
before and this is the first one that
says $14 month is $14 month. No hidden
charges.

experience was a quick and efficient account
set up. There was not much need for support
because everything worked just fabulously.
However,
when I did have to contact support MBWH
operates a support tracking system which
allowed my response to be tracked and
completed. There was no ticket that went
answered or unsolved.
As
for the cons of this program, I would
only say that the $39.95 price tag is
a little high but well worth it. It's
one of the BEST services I ever used.

latest version of CPanel, their control
panel has many more features that other
CPanels do not have. So do not assume
that you are getting the same Cpanel as
you would expect from other web hosting
companies. So far, Hostrocket seems to

painless switch cost us thousands of dollars.
We called everyday for two weeks straight
to get help; we were told every time that
the problem would be corrected. The last
time we called (before we switched to
another hosting company) I asked for a
supervisor and was told that no one was
available. If OLM was the only hosting
company in the world I would get another
career. OLM has got to be the most unorganized
laziest un knowledgeable, unhelpful hosting
company in the world today. I would not
recommend this company, unless you like
dealing with day-to-day problems.

their services for almost 3 years. I'm
hosting 8 sites with them. In general,
I was mostly happy. They would warn about
downtimes, would answer e-mails within
12-24 hours, etc. Good enough for $4 a
month. Occasionally, some of the sites
would be down for a day or two without
prior notice. Some pages on their site
do not work -- http://www.one2host.com/outlook.htm
and couple other. There is NO tel ## to
call them.
But
last month they went down for 12-24 hours
3 or 4 times. And a week ago 4 of my sites
went down. Wrote them almost a dozen e-mails,
logged several tickets at the help desk
-- no answer. Sites still down. Now I'm
looking for new hosting company.
Wouldn't
recommend.

as simple as 1,2,3. They activated my
account within 5 minutes. Instructions
were very easy to follow. What I really
liked was their packages. They allow me
an abundance of bandwidth and allow up
to 6 domains under this one package, which
is truly a money saver. I noticed only
a few companies out there that offer 24x7
phone support, which these guys do, and
that was one of the points that made me
go with them, besides the attractive packages.
The only con right now is that their control
panel is Hsphere. I have been using cPanel
and have grown quite acustomed to it,
so it will be a bit of an adjustment.
However, they do provide all the support
documentations on how to use it. So all
in all I am very happy with them.

was good. I had three sites hosted with
them for 5 years. I admin. about 5 others.
Once every couple of months the sites
would go down because of billing problems
on their side(pwebtech).
Then
on November 25, 2003 all my sites went
down, my credit card had been declined.
No warning, no email, no invoice, sites
were just shut down. Once again billing
department had not recorded new credit
card number properly. I told billing if
this happens again I would pull over 26
site from their services.
Reply.
Just
send me an email with user name, password,
and credit card number for each site and
I will shut all of your sites down.
If
it was not for a rude and incompetent
billing department this might be a decent
host. Turns out after looking around found
a deal for half the price and with a better
control panel. Thanks Jacky! I love
